Description:
The Cowboy Trail is the longest rail-to-trail conversion in progress in the United States.So far, 136 miles of trail have been opened to the public for hiking, biking, and horseback riding.The longest finished section is a 102 mile path running from Norfolk to Stuart.Other finished sections of the trail include:
- 16 mile segment running from Bassett to Ainsworth
- 18 mile segment beginning in Valentine and crossing over the Niobrara River
